About Twisted River

Twisted River is a family-run farm in Mitchell, Iowa, dedicated to growing the highest quality, most flavorful seasonal produce for our North Iowa community.

We are Steve and Marcy Strasheim, along with our daughter Avery. Our farm moved to Mitchell in 2018, and we are proud to call it home.

Grown Here. Sold Here.

Unlike produce that travels for days, everything we offer is grown right here on our farm. We harvest at the peak of ripeness to ensure you receive food with maximum flavor, freshness, and nutrients.

What started in 2014 as a specialty operation focusing on salad and microgreens has grown into a diverse farm offering a wide variety of seasonal vegetables through direct sales.

The Name

Our farm's name is inspired by the waterways that nourish our land. Twisted River Farm began near the banks of a winding section of the Shell Rock River in Nora Springs, IA and though we moved to Mitchell, IA in 2018, we remain close to the Cedar River—the spirit of the "Twisted River" endures.
